The Irvine Improv is hosting Deon Cole on multiple nights this January.
The multi-talented stand-up comedian and television star rose to prominence as an Emmy and WGA Award-nominated writer for Conan O’Brien’s talk shows Conan and The Tonight Show.
After penning some of O’Brien’s jokes for the White House Correspondents Dinner he hosted in 2013, Cole began branching off with other projects as both a comedian and actor.
On Netflix, Cole appeared in The Standups, which was so successful the streaming service gave him his own one-hour special, Cole Hearted. He then co-starred in a couple of Netflix movies, including the western film The Harder They Fall and the Jonah Hill comedy You People. The Netflix is a Joke YouTube channel also hosted his stand-up documentary Workin’ It Out.
In addition, Cole won multiple NAACP Image Awards for his appearances on the comedy series Black-ish and Grownish. He also released a one-hour stand-up special for Comedy Central called Deon Cole’s: Cole Blooded Seminar.
Other notable projects for Cole include co-starring in the musical remake of The Color Purple and headlining his latest one-hour Netflix special, Charleen’s Boy.
