Two restaurants will soon be open in the Berkeley area which will offer organic and chemical-free food options for those on the go.
The Organic Coup and Super Duper Burgers will provide menu options to support today’s healthier lifestyles.
Founders of the The Organic Coup, Erica Welton and Dennis Hoover, feel that their restaurant is in line with the types of establishments becoming popular in the Berkeley area. Welton wants to provide not only an organic menu, but one that meets the USDA certification standards – something they will likely emphasize in their Flyers and any Promotional Products.
Welton was motivated to create a restaurant with healthy ingredients based on the premise that more Americans are calling for healthier food choices. With the financial support of Costco’s founder Jim Sinegal, for whom she worked at one time, her dream became a reality. The Organic Coup plans to pay its employees a starting salary of $15 an hour.
Super Duper Burgers will focus on creating a menu of burgers using local ingredients. The restaurant which currently has locations in San Francisco, will also offer other healthy options including organic shakes and veggie burgers. The restaurant’s opening date has not yet been announced.
The Organic Coup is expected to open in December and will be located at 2309 Telegraph Ave. Super Duper Burgers will be located at 2355 Telegraph Ave.
