Berkeley university to host poetry sessions

The Berkeley University of California will soon be hosting a poetry reading session featuring an award-winning author.

The author Kiki Petrosino will be reading poetry as part of the Berkeley Lunch Poems series. Petrosino has written multiple Books, including Fort Red Border and Witch Wife. Her work has also been featured in several publications, like The New York Times, Gulf Coast, Tin House, and Best American Poetry. She works as a professor of poetry at the University of Virginia and is a recipient of the Pushcart Prize.

Berkeley Lunch Poems is a series founded by Robert Hass and is under the direction of Geoffrey G. O'Brien. The program allows listeners to hear poems from notable writers, with past presenters including Roger Reeves, Aria Aber, and Yusef Komunyakaa. Previous reading sessions can be found on a YouTube playlist. Organizations in charge of activities like this can promote events by using poster printing.

Kiki Petrosino will be reading poetry on February 4th. Those interested in hearing her performance can find a link to the Zoom meeting room on the university’s event page. Each link will be available two weeks before the program is held. The series will also feature Mary Jo Bang on March 4th and Shane McCrae on April 1st.
