Berkeley concert to celebrate inaugural residency program

The Maybeck Studio for the Performing Arts in Berkeley will be organizing a concert to celebrate its new winter program.

The community is invited to view a concert performed by the new members of the Musaics of the Bay Winter Residency, including violinist Nigel Armstrong and pianist Milad Yousufi. The California Arts Council created the program to bring a small group of talented composers, visual artists, and performers to the city. The purpose of the new residency is to encourage conversation, collaboration, and community outreach.

The Maybeck Studio for the Performing Arts will have some COVID-related regulations in place to keep its performers and visitors safe at the concert. Audience members who are 12 or older are asked to prove their vaccination status before being allowed into the venue. Having negative test results are also suitable for the studio. Kids aged 2-11 must put on a properly fitted face covering when inside the building, though they may take them off when eating or drinking.

The celebratory concert will be held on Saturday, January 8 and will start at 3:00 pm. The doors to the performance will open at 2:30 pm. General admission for the show costs $15. People who do not feel well are asked to refrain from coming to the concert. Studios with rules similar to this can reiterate their safety regulations to patrons by using banner printing.
