Angsty punk band heading for Berkeley venue

Berkeley’s UC Theatre Taube Family Music Hall is getting a taste of punk with the upcoming performance from Destroy Boys.

Destroy Boys is a band based in Sacramento. Active since 2015, they are known for combining hardcore punk aesthetics with the sentiments of teen-era angst and rebellion against cliques. Their music also focuses on the young adult experience after high school, including meditations on the disillusionment of growing up in the digital age and the pain of ambiguous estrangement from others.

The four-person band is fronted by lead singer and guitarist Alexia Roditis. The band also includes guitarist Violet Mayugba, bassist David Orozco and drummer Narsai Malik.

Funeral Soundtrack #4 is the fourth studio album from Destroy Boys. Their latest musical effort represents a turning point, transitioning from their more teen drama-inspired music to what comes afterward. Their current tour includes other stops in California, New Mexico, Tennessee, Nevada, Texas and Arizona.
