All systems go for 2018 Berkeley Bay Festival

A celebration of the environmental education and other activities that surround the Berkeley Waterfront will take place this weekend.

The City of Berkeley organizes the event, through its City’s Parks, Recreation and Waterfront Department. Several groups dedicated to environmental education will have hands-on exhibits in front of the Shorebird Park Nature Center, which is noted for its marine conservation and other environmental education programs, as well as its straw bale architecture.

Savvy businesses see events such as this one as opportunities to hand out Promotional Products, which makes it all the more fun and interesting for attendees.

A mobile freshwater fish exhibit, as well as the 200-gallon aquariums inside the Shorebird Park Nature Center’s Classroom, will display saltwater and native freshwater fish. A costume contest for both adults and children, with a Bay wildlife theme, will add to the frivolity this year.

Children and family friendly music performed first by Melita Silberstein and then by The Bug Family Band will take place from 11:45 am – 1:45 pm and will be followed by Downtown Rhythm. Activities will include the Prescott Circus Theater, games, crafts, and free dragon boat and sailboat rides.

The Berkeley Bay Festival takes place 11:00 am to 4:00 pm tomorrow, April 14. Food will be available for purchase on location from Tacos Oaxaca and Royal Egyptian Cuisine.
