Downtown Tempe is hosting its annual Spring Festival of the Arts this March.

It takes place over several downtown street blocks within the boundaries of Myrtle and Ash Avenue and between 3rd Street and University Drive.

Children’s activities with street playsets made of recycled materials, metallic sculptures, the fruity whiff of iced vendor beverages, and the soft rumble of sidewalk chalk pressed against concrete are just some of the sights, sounds, and smells people can expect to encounter.

With more than half a century of tradition behind its name, the Festival of the Arts is one of the oldest of its kind in the entire Southwest U.S. Open to locals and visitors alike, patrons can peruse the work of artists from around the nation.

Offering a variety of foods offered by local vendors, a lineup of musical guests and a Kids Block to help entertain smaller children, there are many things to explore at the festival.

With hundreds of artists from across the country expected to show up, the multi-day free festival has been positively highlighted in Sunshine Artists magazine as one of the Top 100 Classic and Contemporary Craft Shows that America has to offer.
