World-famous cabaret singer comes to Tempe

The Tempe Center for the Arts will host the performer Meow Meow this April.

Melissa Madden Gray, who goes by the stage name Meow Meow, is originally from Australia and has performed in venues all over the globe, from her home country’s Sydney Opera House to London’s West End to Berlin, New York and San Francisco.

Using a mashup of different genres, Meow Meow creates an over-the-top stage performance with the theme of all things cat-like. The rebellious yet decadent persona she creates is meant to appeal to anyone who resonates with it, from punk rockers to young children alike.

With acclaim from The New York Times and The Telegraph UK, Meow Meow has shared the stage with the likes of David Bowie, Mikhail Marshnikov, and other artists.

Some of her signature shows, featuring original material by her, include Apocalypse Meow, Vamp Beyond Glamour, Meow Meow’s Little Mermaid, and Feline Intimate, which she’s performed at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, William Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre and the Edinburgh International Festival.

Meow Meow credits her loyal fanbase to the incomparable live experience that can’t be replicated in film or other media.

Stage performances like this may choose to use brochure printing to create audience programs, setlists and informational pamphlets.

Meow Meow performs on April 17 at 7 pm and 9 pm at the Tempe Center for the Arts at 700 W. Rio Salado Parkway in Tempe.
