The Tempe Center for the Arts is hosting the Summer Vacay Sketch Show Getaway this August.

Now in its second year at the Tempe Center for the Arts, this vacation-themed sketch comedy show is put on by the Buckaroo Lodge, a local theater company.

Local actors and people involved in improvised theater have come together from all over the valley to write and fine-tune this show, akin to sketch comedy seen on television, such as Saturday Night Live. Admission starts at $23.

Art of the city’s Tempe Arts and Culture Division, the Tempe Center for the Arts is considered a central hub for the arts community, offering over 200 programs per year. The venue, nestled on the banks of the Tempe Town Lake, brings both local and nationally recognized entertainers, musicians, actors and dancers. There’s also a free art gallery located at the center.

Buckaroo Lodge, the local sketch comedy theater putting on the Summer Vacay Sketch Show Getaway this summer, is headquartered in the Main Street Creative Arts Center in Mesa. They offer classes in sketch comedy, offering both foundational skills and advanced techniques. They also host more open-ended workshops.

Comedy shows like this may choose to use brochure printing to create audience programs and season schedules.

The Summer Vacay Sketch Show Getaway is happening on August 15 from 7 pm to 9 pm at the Tempe Center for the Arts at 700 W Rio Salado Pkwy in Tempe.
