Bone Thugs-N-Harmony is coming to the Marquee Theatre in Tempe this May.
The hit-making rap group, known for incorporating vocal harmonies into its music, rose to the heights of success from its formation in the early 1990s.
With a total of three Grammy nominations to its name, the group ultimately picked up the award for their single Tha Crossroads, a tribute to their late hip-hop mentor, Eazy-E.
All five original Bone Thugs members are still active in the group, including Krayzie Bone, Layzie Bone, Bizzy Bone, Wish Bone and Flesh-N-Bone.
Originally from Cleveland, the band relocated to the Los Angeles area after Eazy-E helped launch their musical careers, signing them to his label, Ruthless Records. The band got the rapper’s attention by calling the record label relentlessly, until one day, Eazy-E called them back, Krayzie recalled.
Though Bizzy initially answered, he passed the phone to Krayzie, who began an impromptu rap for Eazy over the phone. The rapper was so impressed, he invited Bone Thugs to open for him for a show back in Cleveland. The rest was history.
