Devotees of laser tag, and the increasingly-popular archery tag, have a new arena to play in. The M2P Tactical, which offers 15,000 square feet of space, is now open in Chandler, and is the brainchild of Ryan and Holly Jackson.
The indoor venue is an outgrowth of M2P Tactical's experience with outdoor tag, which they have operated as a mobile business for the last five years. Moving the game inside gives them the opportunity to introduce a slightly different version of the game to more players. The Jacksons say there is more to playing the game than just shooting and racking up ‘kills’. Instead, players are encouraged to think of the game as a tactical mission, and concentrate on working as a team.
Laser tag is a popular game in which participants wear special Vests that register a ‘hit’ when struck with a beam from a laser tag pistol. In M2P's version, small sensors are mounted on players' heads, while rifles are outfitted with a red-dot scope. The sensors communicate with the rifles to determine whether or not a person has been hit. To register a hit, the scope has to be accurately aimed.
The Jacksons have developed various scenarios to amuse players, such as rearranging pillars in the arena to create a competition in the style of ‘Hunger Games’.
Companies like these can benefit by working with poster printing companies, which can create colorful placards to help advertising efforts.
