Visitors to a museum in Chandler will now be able to enjoy tours led by docents, according to an article on the city’s website.
The Chandler Museum has begun offering guided tours three days per week. The tours are an hour long, during which time visitors will see various parts of the Chandler Museum campus, such as the new building, as well as the living room of the McCullough Price House. The historic home is adjacent to the museum. At the end of the tours, docents will remain available to answer questions and provide further information about current exhibits.
Tiffani Egnor, the Museum’s curator of education, said the facility was excited about offering the tours, which are led by volunteers. The docents have been extensively trained so they are familiar with the Museum’s contents. Flyer printing can be used to create handouts for institutions like this.
One of the docents, Joan Clark, who also gives tours at Taliesin West, the Frank Lloyd Wright compound in Scottsdale, says everything about the Museum impresses her. Clark says it is becoming a cultural destination that allows people to learn about the events, places, and people that have combined to make Chandler the city it is today.
Tours are free, and no registration is required. They are given three times a week, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Sundays. On the weekdays, the hours are 10:00 am until 1:00 pm, and on the weekend, the hours are 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm.
