Chandler gardeners invited to go native

When it comes to desert gardening, native plants have a lot to offer, and a Chandler activity will introduce this type of flora to local home horticulturists.

The Downtown Library located at 22 South Delaware Street, will be the location for a session that introduces the benefits of going native when it comes to plant selection. It is one of a list of classes coming up in the city this spring, and it will be free to take part.

The activity will explore a variety of plants native to the area and that also do well under cultivation. Tips for identifying these species will be shared, and there will also be a discussion on how to create a garden that invites pollinators. Attendees will learn about how some non-natives plants can be invasive, and they will walk away ready to get to work in their own garden.

Many people are becoming more interested in living a nature-friendly lifestyle, and a workshop provides a way for them to get started. Community guides that include lists of local events can make it easier for locals to get involved, and these can be prepared by Stationery printers that also offer binding services.

This introduction to the importance of choosing native plants is set for Tuesday, April 30. It will be getting started at 6:00 pm.
