Chandler class to explore alternatives to turfgrass

The term xeriscaping refers to landscaping and gardening techniques that minimize the use of water, and this will be the focus of an upcoming class for gardeners in Chandler.

The Hamilton Library, which is located at 3700 South Arizona Avenue, will be welcoming those who would like to learn more about making their property water wise. The focus will be on alternatives to the use of turf gasses, and many of the options discussed will be native to the area.

The workshop will introduce how to create a pleasing landscape design that is also water friendly. The use of desert plants will be highlighted, and the use of a drip irrigation system will be reviewed. The value of creating a central theme will be on the agenda, and all questions will be welcome. It's free to take part, and the class will run for one and half hours in total.

Gardeners often appreciate the chance to learn something new, and a workshop like this provides an opportunity to do so. Copies of handouts that include full color graphic design elements such as pictures and charts can be prepared by Stationery printers.

This introduction to the value of xeriscaping is scheduled for March 27th. Everyone is asked to be in their seat by 6:00 pm. The registration system is on offer on the city’s website, which also includes a list of other classes being held this spring.
