Buddy Guy was born in Louisiana, but moved to Chicago in 1957, where he first met Muddy Waters. Guy worked as a session musician, playing guitar to back up Waters, Howlin' Wolf, and others. Although he was with Chess Records from 1959 until 1968, in 1967 he was still driving a tow truck during the day.
In 1969, he took part in a “Supershow” in England, where Eric Clapton also performed. Since then, Guy and Clapton have appeared together many times, including a meeting in 2005 the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, when Clapton and B.B. King were on hand to induct Buddy Guy to the Hall.
Guys' career soared when the blues were revived starting late in the 1980s, and he has never looked back. His concerts are as high-energy as they were in the 1960s, and his material is still relevant. In 2013, his album “Rhythm and Blues” went to No. 1 on the Blues chart. When artists visit a city, brochure printing is a popular option to create programs for such events.
A review says:
“Buddy Guy Rocks, he is old school blues with connections to all the greats...a true gem...”
