Vaughan hires new City Manager
After an extensive selection process, a new City Manager has been chosen for the community of Vaughan.
The mayor noted that he and the rest of the council are pleased to have chosen Steve Kanellakos. He will be taking over the role from Barbara Cribbett, who was the interim city manager for the past five years. Cribbett will be retiring after many years of public service.
Kanellakos has a master’s degree in Public Administration from Carleton University, and years of experience in managing police and city operations. He was formerly the deputy manager of city operations in Ottawa, and in that role he took responsibility for many different departments including public works, community and social affairs, and environmental services.
According to the mayor, he feels sure that Kanellakos will provide a dedicated service and help Vaughan to move forward into the future as a world class city. He noted that he is very pleased to welcome him to the city’s management team.
When someone takes on a new position such as this, he or she may very likely need to purchase some custom printed products, such as digital business cards. A printing company will be able to provide these as well as any other items they may need.
Kanellakos is set to begin his new role at some point in May.
