Honeybee Centre to host field trips
A Surrey venue that offers insight into the importance of both native and introduced bee species will soon be starting its field trip season, and educators are welcome to book a visit for their students.
The Honeybee Centre is currently accepting bookings for its field trips, and these offer hands-on opportunities to learn about environmental stewardship. A deposit of $200.00 is required to secure a date, and each time slot runs for two hours.
The sessions, which will all take place outdoors, will open with a welcome and presentation, and after this, the kids can explore the venue and what it has on offer. They can dress up like a beekeeper, and there will be books, puzzles, drawing and other opportunities for creative play. The afternoons will each wrap up with a honey tasting, and an optional visit to the gift shop may be included if desired. It has been noted that there are glass jars in the shopping area, so kids will need to be closely supervised.
Kids may really enjoy learning about nature during trips like this. Stationery printers can design custom materials such as signs, colouring sheets and certificates of completion for similar activities.
The team at Honeybee Centre will be welcoming young learners for its Field Trip program on various dates throughout April, May and June. Its Eventbrite page includes more information for interested educators.
