Surrey plans tree distribution program
Fall can be a great time of the year to install a tree, and a Surrey program will be giving its households the opportunity to add some to their property without breaking the bank.
The city has set the dates for its September Tree Sale, and everyone who is interested can order up to three in advance. Not only with this boost Surrey’s tree canopy, but it may also increase the value of the properties where they are planted.
The trees will each be on offer for $20, and it is intended for private residences only. They must be purchased with a credit card billed to a Surrey address, and they will be planted in either a three- or five-gallon pot. The public can choose their pick-up time when they place their order, and confirmation and reminder emails will be sent out. The distribution point location will be the Surrey Operations Centre.
Tree planting and other programs may make it easier for the general public to get involved in environmental advocacy, and a poster printing company will be happy to help. It can prepare materials that help build the buzz about an activity and also how to get involved.
