The Darts Hill Garden Conservancy Trust Society will be hosting a fall pruning class next month.
Savvy Surrey gardeners know pruning can lead to increased flower and fruit production and can also be used to shape a shrub or tree into a desired form. This workshop will introduce the benefits of the practice and give everyone some hands-on experience.
The activity is advertised as a course for beginners and will start by covering the basics of plant biology and how it affects how, when and where to make a cut. Attendees will find out how it can improve a plant’s overall health by removing old and diseased growth, and in the spring, it will come back refreshed and rejuvenated. The different types of pruners will also be covered.
The goal for the organizers if for everyone to walk away feeling confident when it comes to this gardening practice. It will begin indoors before moving outside to gain some hands-on experience with secateurs.
Gardeners and other hobbyists may appreciate the chance to pick up some new techniques in a supportive environment, and a workshop gives them a chance to do so. A flyer printing company can provide economically priced options for promoting a function to its home community.
This introduction to pruning workshop will take place on November 7th. It will start at 10:00am at the Maple City Centre in Darts Hill Garden Park.
