A Surrey area tradition will add some excitement to its May calendar, and there will be ways for kids and adults alike to join in.
The annual Cloverdale Bike Parade and Bed Races will hit the pavement at 176 A Street for some friendly competition. The event will open with a Western-themed Bike Parade. The kids can decorate their ride, and there will be random draws for prize Gift Certificates courtesy of local businesses.
After the parade, the bed races will begin. It will be an elimination-style contest, and there will be four team options. Each will push its bed along the route, and the entry fee is $50.00 for those who already have a bed and $60.00 for those that need to loan one. Highschool teams may enter for free. The riders must wear a helmet, and each bed needs to have four wheels. The entry fees should be made payable to the Cloverdale BIA.
Special awards will be presented to the adults, and there will be prize draws for the kids too.
The awards presented will be as whimsical as the function itself. Chamber Pot, Bedpan and Stone Pig trophies will be awarded, and there will also be one given to the best dressed team. A printer's graphic design staff can craft custom trophies and other Corporate Gifts for an event like this.
The Cloverdale Bed Races are scheduled for May 15th. The final date to submit a registration is May 9th.
