Senior set to enjoy special Surrey event
A special request has been issued to Surrey’s senior set to attend a function that will teach them about the ins and outs of using the city’s transportation system.
The city has organized the 55+ Transportation Forum to make it easier for those aged 55 and up to hit the road in their own vehicle or utilize the city’s public transit system.
The attendees at the forum will be invited to sit on presentations that cover topics such as road safety and the benefits of accessing public transit and how to do so, and tips for senior drivers will also be shared. There will be discussion of Surrey’s Transportation Plan, and representatives of Seniors on the Move and WALKit will also be on hand. Everyone can take part in the active aging exercises and browse through the resource booths as well.
Along with the rest of the fun, the participants will be treated to light refreshments as well as lunch, and door prize draws will take place. Companies may be asked to donate corporate gifts to present to the winner of a raffle or draw at events similar to this.
This day of learning planned with Surrey’[s senior set in mind will run from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm on September 14th. It is scheduled for the Cloverdale Recreation Centre.
