South Charleston hosts 12th annual 5k

South Charleston Chamber 12th Annual 5k Wellness Run/Walk is set to take place this May.

The start/finish line will be in Oakes Field and the course will be flat and run through South Charleston's downtown. This course is great for beginners.

Pre-registration is $25 until May 15th when it will increase $5. Kids under 13 may register for $20. T-Shirts will be available only for those who preregister. On-site registration will begin at 8:00 am and the 5k will follow at 9:00 am. Walkers will leave the starting line about five minutes after the runners have left. The Appalachian Timing Company will oversee chip timing.

Post-race festivities will include refreshments, water, and sponsor tables loaded with Promotional Products such as promotional Pens, tote Bags and coupons. Awards will go to first placed female and male finishers in eight age brackets.

Sponsorships start with the Finish Line Sponsor at $200, Silver Sponsor at $300, Gold Sponsor at $500 and ends with the Premier Sponsor at $800. Sponsorships include promotional materials in the race packets and 2, 3, 4, and 6 race entries. Company names of the silver, gold and premier sponsors will be printed on race shirts.

The South Charleston Chamber 12th Annual 5k Wellness Run/Walk will be Saturday, May 30th from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Oakes Field on E Street.
