City of South Charleston hosts charity golf tournament

Mayor Frank A. Mullens Jr. has posted a letter stating that the City of South Charleston will be presenting its 3rd annual Charity Golf Tournament in mid-July.

Registration for foursomes will be $300 and will include 18 holes, a light breakfast, gift Bags, refreshments along the course, lunch and awards. Awards will go to first, second and third place winners, longest putt and drive, closest to the pin and the winner of the Chick-fil-A Cow Challenge. Mulligans (free strokes) and skirts (male golfers shooting from women's tee Boxes) will be available for $5 each.

Although the exact Chick-fil-A Cow challenge is not listed, if anything like previous years, it will likely be prizes to those golfers getting shots nearer to a designated pin then the Cow does. Sometimes the challenge is just having a photo taken with the Cow and donating.

Hole sponsorships will cost $100 and will include business logo and name on one hole and mention on social media. Gift Certificates or products may be donated to the raffle and silent auction or used for prizes.

Those businesses that donate items usually place Business Cards in with the donations.

Proceeds will go to support the Down Syndrome Network of West Virginia whose headquarters are here in South Charleston.

The City of South Charleston's 3rd Annual Charity Golf Tournament will be July 17th from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at Little Creek Golf Course, 99 Fairway Drive.
