Wellness a priority in local business

Bradley Corp., a company with headquarters in Menomonee Falls, has introduced a “wall of gratitude” and “rejuvenation station” to improve employees' mental health. It is just one of the ways companies in the United States are improving the wellbeing of their employees.

Human Resources Generalist Caley Bohn suggests staff could write down things that made them grateful throughout last month and place them on the “wall of gratitude”. They could be as specific or general as they pleased. Bohn has a concentration in employee benefits and wellbeing. She believes that a positive attitude is contagious and stays with a person throughout the day.

The "rejuvenation station" is a cozy room for employees to have quiet alone time and an anti-stress environment in which to meditate and stretch. There are motivational quotes on the walls, videos on yoga, and core chairs. The exercises promote blood flow, which ups the creative mind and productivity. If employees can remove themselves from a task to regroup themselves, their productivity increases.

Other companies, such as Phoenix Investors LLC in Milwaukee, will allow employees to take naps in the special room that accommodates for physical therapy in the future.

Companies that offer wellness benefits for their employees can advertise them to potential employees with better skills. A printing company can make brochures for applicants to peruse and consider working for the company instead of its competition.
