Self-defense class comes to Menomonee Falls

Menomonee Falls residents will get the chance to learn self-defense from professionals.

Self-Defense and Violence Prevention Workshop is designed to provide you with practical tools for your safety. The session includes awareness, prevention, and some basic physical skills. The class will give you the information you need to set and enforce your boundaries and to use your voice. You will also learn about some safe and easy-to-use techniques you can use to protect yourself physically.

Attendees will spend the two hours of this class discussion and learning the ‘how and why’ of violence and violence prevention. The topics will include understanding the mindset and motivation of an attacker, using verbal assertiveness to set limits and keep the peace, the difference between social and anti-social violence, and the power of intuition in potentially harmful situations. The class will also focus on typical victim/target distractions, such as the targeted use of conversation to create an illusion of safety and the danger of being “too nice” to confront another when your safety is threatened.

The workshop is presented by Bill Stedman, owner of SAFE Self Defense Milwaukee. Intelligent use of flyer printing can increase the popularity of an event.

SAFE Self Defense Milwaukee will hold a Self-Defense and Violence Prevention Workshop on November 22nd from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at MK Protection Strategies in Downtown Menomonee Falls.
