A celebration rooted in Polynesian tradition is coming to Menomonee Falls.
The Midwest Aloha Festival is a free, family-friendly celebration of everything that makes Polynesia unique, including its artistry, food, dance, music, and culture. The Nā Hale Cultural Arts Center, Inc. (Nā Hale Studios) is presenting the festival, which was created by Culture Keepers, Pacific Islanders, Native Hawaiians, and the Nā Hale Studios ʻOhana.
The festival’s organizers created it to use Polynesia’s culture of warmth and welcome to share a message of unity and love. They offer delicious food, cultural demonstrations, a beer garden, artisanal vendors, and live performances that will help bring people together.
The emcee for the event is Norm Muñoz, who was a member of the famed Tahitian dance ensemble Te Vai Ura Nui, and a celebrated performer at the Polynesian Cultural Center. With music and dance, he continues to impart Polynesian culture to others. Other scheduled performers include Ocean Rush, a group from Milwaukee who perform reggae, Hawaiian, and other music inspired by the islands; several hula groups; and singer Hawaiian Joe. Nā Hale Studios has created a work, “True Colors,” specifically for this event.
The Midwest Aloha Festival will be held in Village Park and is scheduled for September 19, from 10.00 am until 9.00 pm. Organizers of events like these can enhance them by using banner printing to create suitable decorations for the venue.
