History buffs and those interested in significant cultural events should consider attending an upcoming dinner in Menomonee Falls.
People are invited to the White Star Line’s Themed R.M.S. Titanic First-Class Dinner. The evening is designed to be a fully immersive event to recreate, as closely as possible, what a first-class dinner would have been like aboard the ship. To that end, attendees are encouraged to wear either formal attire, or period clothing.
Character actors will be present, artifacts from the Titanic will be on display, and Captain Smith’s Table will be set. A string quartet will provide music for the evening.
The R.M.S. Titanic, as almost everyone knows, struck an iceberg on her maiden voyage on April 15, 1912, and sank with an immense loss of life; the exact number has never been determined. The sinking caught the public imagination, possibly because she was declared unsinkable, and has been the subject of several films, including the James Cameron-directed 1997 blockbuster.
The dinner is a fundraiser to benefit the Old Falls Village Park, and is organized by the Friends of Old Falls Village, Inc. The 18-acre park is home to historic buildings and structures and a museum.
The party is scheduled for March 28, with drinks at 4.00 pm and dinner at 6.00 pm. The venue is the North Hill Country Club, located at N73W 13430 Appleton Avenue in Menomonee Falls.
