Village seeks new board members

The Village of Menomonee Falls is looking for volunteers to serve in several positions.

One of these is on the Plan Commission, which was created to review development plans, land use proposals, and approvals for land use. The commission is made up of seven members, five of whom are selected by the Village Trustees and serve five-year terms. The other two members are another Trustee and the Village Board President. The Plan Commission comes together once a month.

The Zoning Board of Appeals would also like volunteers. The board is tasked with listening to appeals and granting changes or exceptions to the rules outlined in the Zoning Ordinance. Five permanent members are on the board, as well as two alternates who are selected by the Village Board President and approved by the Village Trustees, after which they will serve for three years on staggered terms.

Space is also available on the village’s Architectural Control Board. It was chartered with the responsibility of promoting development that is compatible, aesthetic, and stable. Preventing the depreciation or impairment of existing developments is part of this board's duties. Seven members make up the board, and they meet once a month at Village Hall. Meetings like this will often include agendas written on paper carrying official letterheads.

Applicants who wish to apply for any of these positions can download the application forms from the village’s website and send them to the email provided.
