Village president resigns

David Glasgow has declared that he is resigning from his position as village president of Menomonee Falls.

Glasgow has been the president of the village since 2018. He said that he will be resigning because he has taken a promotion that will see him move to Germany where he will work at Bio-Rad Laboratories as the director of quality. A new set of business cards is often required when taking up a new executive role such as this. Glasgow made his resignation official on November 16th with a letter that read:

"Although my wife and I are very excited to return to Germany for family reasons, it has been an agonizing decision nonetheless to have to step down from the village board. It has been an absolute pleasure serving our wonderful community.”

Before becoming the village president, Glasgow was a trustee since 2015. He and his family moved to Menomonee Falls from Germany in 2009 through a company transfer so that he could care for his ailing father. His father died this summer and he felt it was the right time to accept a move back to Germany. His adult children are already in school there.

A highlight of his career was overseeing the upgrades made to the Village Park. This project was worth $2.1 million, and it made it possible for more people to enjoy themselves in the downtown area. The park is now able to offer programming and concerts.
