Seminar to cover teen mental health

Your Choice to Live and Gals on the Go Project are working together to create Journey to Resiliency- Menomonee Falls School District, a discussion on adolescent mental health.

At this seminar, adolescent psychology professionals with decades of experience will discuss the shortage of mental health prevention and its effects, which include an increase of suicide, psychological disorders, substance abuse, and violent behavior.

The message behind the discussion is that it is essential to talk about mental health, and that adolescents need to learn how to cope with stressors, establish self-proficiency, and use skills developed in the household. Professionals will also disclose personal stories of healing to show that there is hope for the future.

The seminar will take place in the auditorium of Menomonee Falls High School at N80W14350 Titan Drive. The first half hour will consist of a resource fair, then presentation. The two organizations say they are encouraging “prevention” as the primary solution to community mental health issues.

The subheadings of the seminar is Bypassing and Navigating Anxiety and Depression in Adolescence. It is free of charge. Registration is available online.

The seminar will take place on February 27 from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. Contact Gals on the Go Project or Menomonee Falls School District official Meg Hanley. Poster printing is used in schools to remind adolescents to use their skills of resiliency.
