What's Happening in Germantown, WI…

Rixton performs at local high school

On February 27, British band Rixton performed at Menomonee Falls High School to reward students for winning Goodwill's Fall Haul Donation Challenge.

The British band is a mixture of rock, pop, and R&B. Natalie Suetholz was one of the students who were able to meet them and receive a hug, and she expressed her excitement as they exchanged pleasantries.

More than 450 schools in Wisconsin participated in the donation drive, which lasted through the month of November. The schools brought in a total of 400,000 donations. Menomonee Falls High School donated nearly 29,000 items and won a concert with Rixton. Goodwill representative Cheryl Lightholder expressed how vital donations are to her organization, the goal of which is to employ people.

Germantown High School and Oconomowoc High School won gift cards worth $500 for their excellent donation amounts. Goodwill employee and students were excited and grateful that Rixton had made an appearance, while the band said they enjoyed performing gigs similar to the one at the high school.

Rixton recently recorded their first album, and might now need a printing company to help with CD sleeves and artwork. Sleeves often contain the lyrics to songs and other interesting tidbits about the band, and are one of the main reasons fans buy physical CDs and vinyl instead of downloading an album.
