Menomonee Falls flooring firm finds buyer
Nonn's Flooring Inc. of Middleton has completed the purchase of Menomonee Falls retailer Malkin's Flooring, Inc.
On April 30, Adam Nonn, the president and CEO of Nonn Flooring, sealed the deal. The name of the store will not change, nor will the employees be let go from the Falls Parkway address totaling 18,000 square feet of showroom space.
According to Adam Nonn, the Malkin's Flooring and brand is well known and trusted in the area. In addition, the employees are committed, knowledgeable, and good at what they do.
Last year, Malkin's Flooring sponsored several activities to fund community causes. Nonn’s and Malkin’s regularly sponsor and participate in Milwaukee's Parade of Homes. The village is a good area for Nonn's to expand. There is a large amount of remodeling and an active community.
Former owner and employee of Malkin's Floor Marty Schallock believes the acquisition is beneficial for both parties. Schallock will remain on staff to help ease the changes and collaborate with the new owners about the best way forward.
Nonn's has locations in Middeton, Madison, and Waukesha. It started with selling exclusively flooring in 1984 but now sells appliances, counter tops, and cabinets along with floors.
If Malkin's Flooring is owned by another company but not changing the name, its business cards are still likely to mention Nonn's as the owner.
