Local free clinic among best in state
A Menomonee Falls clinic is one of eight in the state to have earned honors from the Wisconsin Association of Free and Charitable Clinics (WAFCC).
Community Outreach Clinic has gained the seal for meeting the Standards of Excellence of the WAFCC. The organization endorses quality healthcare, competence, and increasing access for individuals who are less likely to get healthcare services. These individuals include those who do not have insurance or are underinsured, who are of low socioeconomic status, underserved, vulnerable populations.
The Endowment for Advancing a Healthier Wisconsin of the Medical College of Wisconsin financially supports the Standards of Excellence project. The other clinics that earned the same honor are the InHealth Community Clinic, Community Connection Free Clinic, Lake Area Free Clinic, St. Ann Center: Bucyrus Campus Medical Clinic, Muslim Community Health Center, and HealthNet of Rock County.
The Community Outreach Health Clinic provides non-emergency medical care and pharmaceuticals to Community Memorial Hospital area citizens without insurance or sufficient insurance. It also offers wellness education and referrals to outside resources. A clinical nurse and medical director head the clinic. The staff are volunteers and all medical information is kept confidential.
Doctors use business cards to share their contact information and give patients appointment reminders, so business card printing firms can add this latest accolade to the cards of the doctors at the free clinic.
