Library Board appoints new members

The Menomonee Falls Village Board recently authorized the hiring of two fresh faces to the Library Board.

During a meeting held in January, The Village Board accepted the appointment of Matthew Former to take a seat previously held by Jessica Cole, as well as the appointment of Thomas Ewig, who takes the seat left by Coleen Leahy.

Stationery printers can be used to print notices for interested locals about new appointments such as these.

When the citizen discussion period of the board meeting began, a resident named Kathy McBride inquired about the procedure for selecting applicants for the available Library Board post. Adam Koenings, the Village Attorney, responded by saying:
“There is no formal process. If there are appointments, if there are known people that are interested, if the village president knows of people who are interested, he may make those appointments.”

Jeremy Walz, the Village President, explained how the new individuals were proposed for introduction to the board. Regarding the two picks, Walz declared that he has experience serving on the Library Board and understands the time commitment required.

Walz then stated that when Cole withdrew from the Board, there was reluctance to nominate someone just a few months before the end of the Board’s term. However, this changed when Leahy stepped down and two positions became vacant. The decision to fill the seats was made following a discussion between Walz and his staff.
