Gala celebrates the country of Indonesia

A Night in Indonesia will take place next month. It is a presentation of the Metropolitan Milwaukee Chamber of Commerce, World Trade Association (WTA).

The aim of the evening is for members of the Chamber and others to learn about the Asian country and the business opportunities or resources available to them.

The afternoon will start off with a presentation on Indonesia from the Indonesian Trade Promotion Center and the Consul General of Indonesia in Chicago. The speeches will be followed by a networking reception, where guests will enjoy authentic Indonesian food that might include dishes such as bakcang (rice cakes) and emping (crackers made from gnemon seeds). There will also be a cash bar and “gamelan” music (mostly percussion instruments.)

Next, the presentations will continue with a history of Indonesian culture, a fashion show, and a dance performance. The reception will continue after.

Business leaders from all around the metropolitan area, including those from Menomonee Falls, will be drawn to this event. Most will be bringing their custom business cards with them to exchange with their peers.

A Night in Indonesia will be held at Husch Blackwell LLP in Milwaukee on January 18 from 4:30 to 7:30 PM. Tickets are $30 for members of the WTA, $45 for nonmembers, and $15 for students. To find out more, call the Metropolitan Milwaukee Chamber of Commerce at 414-287-4100.
