Falls library develops modernization plan

The Menomonee Falls Public Library will be updating its look, implementing new technological features, and adapting to new village dynamics with a new strategic plan for its development.

A committee will be set up in order to put together a plan on how to modernize the library. The committee will be made up of library trustees, staff, and other community members. The first step of the plan involves finding out what the community wants from its library. A questionnaire has been developed in order to get as much information from the residents of Menomonee Falls as possible. An official letterhead often features at the top of such questionnaires.

The questionnaire was designed to be as inclusive as possible, so it will be available in English, Spanish, Hindi, or Vietnamese. Community members had already confirmed that they would be able to translate the filled-in questionnaires. Lowell Carl, who is a committee member, stated that:

“With the goal of getting as many responses as possible the committee will blanket the library membership, library visitors and every local organization to which committee members belong.”

The plan will outline how the library’s development will progress over the next five years. The results and recommendations from the questionnaire, along with the library’s financial constraints, will be taken into consideration when designing the plan.

The Menomonee Falls Library is a member of the Bridges Library System which also serves Jefferson and Waukesha counties.
