Elementary school teacher wins award
Scott Walter, principal at Riverside Elementary in Menomonee Falls, has been named the Principal of the Year.
More specifically, the School Administrators of Wisconsin Association has named him the Principal of the Year for Elementary Schools for 2018. The school surprised him by inviting him to a photo shoot in the gymnasium. Members of the schoolboard, leaders of the district, his students, and the cheer team and pep band from Menomonee Falls High School were there to congratulate him.
Walter stated that he was surprised and honored by the award, adding that Riverside is an exceptional school because each of the students and staff constantly work hard. It inspires him to do his best every day.
Integrity and excellence in school leadership is what the Principal of the Year award is all about. The Association asks winners to go to workshops and events throughout the year and talk about how they run their school.
According to Menomonee Falls Schools Superintendent Dr. Pat. Greco, Walker is a proficient teacher and stands up for all students. He has put a lot of effort into constantly improving Riverside Elementary and giving students in the area chances that will shape their lives.
Schools that have teachers win this award could give have a banner printing company make a banner to put in the school halls to demonstrate how the school rises above the rest.
