County offers free park initiative over Thanksgiving weekend
The parks system of Waukesha County is encouraging the community to visit a park after Thanksgiving, including one in Menomonee Falls.
From November 23 until November 25 – the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday following Thanksgiving – there will be no fees for entering any of the parks in the county. Eight of the parks in Waukesha County have fees to come in. Normally, the admission to get into the parks is $5 for a car and $22 for a bus.
According to executive for Waukesha County Paul Farrow, the park system is exceptional and gives the public access to natural resources. He asks the people who do go to the parks over Thanksgiving weekend to share it on social media with the hashtag #ThankfulForParks, and to make use of this opportunity to spend time in the fresh air with family and friends.
The parks that usually have fees are Fox Brook Park in Brookfield, Fox River Park in Waukesha, Menomonee Park in Menomonee Falls, Minooka Park in Waukesha, Mukwonago Park in Mukwonago, Muskego Park in Muskego, Naga-Waukee Park in Hartland, and Nashotah Park in Nashotah.
On November 23, Black Friday, stickers for the 2019 park season will be available for purchase with the park’s logo design. Interested patrons can buy them online, at the main office in a park, or with via pay tank in the park. They are valid until the end of 2019.
