Menomonee Falls may be home to the next Fiddleheads Coffee Roasters store.
The company's headquarters are in Thiensville and it has stores in Milwaukee and Ozaukee counties, but this will be the first in Waukesha County. In addition to in-house roasted coffee, it offers bread, pastries, and sandwiches. Last year, the company started looking into N88 W16621 Appleton Avenue, the location of the Koehler-Zahn historic house.
According to Jovana Cubric, the Business Development Vice President, the company plans to open the new store in autumn. Originally, the company announced that the Menomonee Falls store would be ready by last year. The design of the location hindered the launch date because the company wants to preserve the historic site. There will be rooftop seating and a garden room area. Once the weather becomes warm and the ground is not as hard, construction will begin.
The Koehler-Zahn House, a cream brick Queen Anne building, is registered as a historic site on both the state and national level, says the Wisconsin Historical Society. Fiddleheads owner Mike Wroblewski stated that historic sites are prime real estate because they have their own personality and the community knows about them.
