AgCon explores future of city farming

An event plans to bring together professionals, enthusiasts, and community leaders in urban agriculture to discuss best practices, innovations, and the future of sustainable food systems.

Attracting attendees from Menomonee Falls and further afield, there will be several activities at Milwaukee Urban AgCon including interactive panel talks, which will feature national and local speakers. Topics such as food justice, urban agriculture policy, and innovative farming methods are some of the key issues that will be discussed during the event.

The purpose of this conference is to promote collaboration among specialists in various areas like sustainability, food systems as well as community development. It is an opportunity for attendees to interact with peers from the same industry and learn about recent trends related to urban farming. Brochure printing can be used to share important details of events.

Melinda Myers, a leading figure in education for people working within the industry, will be the first speaker during the event’s opening ceremony. After her speech there will be different panels run by nearby specialists where they will explore topics like growing alternatives in city settings, how to engage young people in city farms, and assistance programs for agricultural enterprises just to mention a few. There shall also be a tour of Harold S. Vincent School’s agriculture program to demonstrate its role in promoting urban farming know-how.

The first-ever Milwaukee Urban AgCon, an urban agriculture conference, will take place on October 21, 2024, at Harold S. Vincent School of Agricultural Science near Menomonee Falls.
