Joseph Edgar Foreman, who goes by the name Afroman, is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, singer, comedian, and rapper. In 2000, he released his song “Because I Got High” and the following year, dropped “Crazy Rap,” both of which subsequently appeared on his 2001 album “The Good Times.” He won a Grammy Award nomination in 2002.
Afroman’s debut album was “My Fro-losopy,” which he dropped in 1998 while he was living in Palmdale, California. He subsequently relocated to Hattiesburg, Mississippi. There, he met record producer Tim Ramenofsky, who goes by the name Headfridge.
Ramenofsky produced Afroman’s 2000 album “Because I Got High,” and had the title track played by Howard Stern on his show. The tune, though humorous and tongue-in-cheek, was a hit and subsequently was used in the films “Disturbia,” “The Perfect Score,” and “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.” To date he has released 16 studio albums, the latest being 2017’s “Cold Fro-T-5 and Two Frigg Fraggs.”
A review of Afroman live says:
“This was surprisingly one of the best shows I have seen all year. Afroman is not a one trick pony. He puts on a great show.”
Afroman will be at PJ’s Music Box in Yakima on August 12, beginning at 6:00 pm. Colorful Posters are the perfect means of advertising events like this, and they can be created using poster printing.
