A unique performance is coming to Yakima for a limited run.
Cirque Italia – Water Circus will be at the State Fair Park and Event Center in Yakima for several days, giving people a choice of performances to enjoy.
Cirque Italia is presenting what it calls an “Aquatic Spectacular,” since it is a water circus. Such a production uses water as an intrinsic part of the show. In the case of Cirque Italia, the production uses a specially designed water stage with a capacity of 35,000 gallons. The circus brings its stage with it wherever the circus performs.
The performers speed past the audience on roller skates and BMX bikes, fly on trapezes, and swing from ropes while jets of water and curtains of rain cross the stage in time with the performers’ movements. Bubbles and laser lights enhance the effect. Acknowledging the child in everyone, mermaids swim up from the bottom of the pool and dinosaurs appear briefly.
Cirque Italia opens this Friday, July 3, then gives three performances July 4, two performances on July 5, and winds up its stay in the city with a final performance on July 6. Two of the seven performances will be Cirque Italia – Water Circus Metropolis presentations. The State Fair Park and Event Center is located at 1301 South Fair Avenue in Yakima. Events like this can benefit when organizers use poster printing to create colorful advertising for them.
