Police loss is comedys gain in Yakima

An artist who once wanted to work in law enforcement has found a career in comedy instead.

Alfred Robles had dreams of becoming a police officer and even made it into the academy, only to be tossed out. Once he dusted himself off, he decided to go into comedy, which was his real passion. Since then, Robles has developed his own distinctive style, which centers mostly on good-natured teasing of almost anyone he can think of.

After he had been performing professionally for two years, he landed two major gigs, the Latino Laugh Festival, and the Loco Comedy Jam, and he came to the attention of Gabriel Iglesias, aka Fluffy Guy.

Iglesias was impressed with Robles’ talent, with the result that Robles toured with “Fluffy” on the #FluffyBreaksEven World Tour, which was based on “Fluffy Breaks Even,” broadcast on FUSEtv. The tour increased Robles’ visibility, and he appeared on “Stand Up and Deliver” on NUVOtv, and “Staaand Upp” on STARZ. He also appeared with Byron Allen on Comedy TV, and then reunited with Iglesias, who asked him to appear on “Stand-Up Revolution,” a hit television show, as well as taking part in “The Fluffy Movie.”

Robles continues to tour throughout the country from his base in Los Angeles. He will be bringing his Mexican American Dream Tour to the Capitol Theatre in Yakima on March 20. Performances like this are often advertised with Posters, which organizers can order at Print shops.
