What's Happening in Woodinville, WA…

Woodinville welcomes singer-songwriter

A musician whose career began over 50 years ago is coming to Woodinville.

Jackson Browne was born in Heidelberg, Germany, and when he was three, the family relocated to Los Angeles. After high school, Browne became a member of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and was with them when they performed at Huntington Beach’s Golden Bear, opening for the Lovin’ Spoonful. After that, the group recorded some of Browne’s songs, such as “Holding” and “These Days.”

Browne’s true commercial success began when Asylum Records signed him in 1971. He released his first album, which was self-titled in 1972, and saw several songs become hits including “Rock Me on the Water, “Jamaica Say You Will,” and “Doctor My Eyes,” which made it into the Top Ten as a single. Another effort, “Song for Adam,” about the death of his friend Adam Saylor, further enhanced his reputation, resulting in a tour to promote the album during which he appeared with Joni Mitchell and Linda Ronstadt.

His most successful album, 1977’s “Running on Empty,” comprised entirely new material and live performances. It contains some of his biggest hits including “The Load-Out/Stay” and the title song. He has sold nearly 20 million albums in his career. A review says:

“I had never seen him before, but always loved his music. he did not disappoint.”

Jackson Browne will be at the Chateau St. Michelle Winery in Woodinville on September 12 and 13. When they advertise events like this, advertisers often turn to poster printing.
