Ziggy Marley is bringing his Brightside Tour to Woodinville, and J. Boog is accompanying him. Ziggy Marley is the eldest son of Bob and Rita Marley, and a producer, songwriter, reggae musician, philanthropist, and author. He was the leader of Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers, a family band, until 2002. He released eight studio albums before he began his career as a soloist and has won a Daytime Emmy Award and eight Grammys.
His first solo album was 2003’s “Dragonfly,” which he followed in 2006 with “Love Is My Religion,” which won the Grammy for Best Reggae Album in 2007. He won another Grammy in 2010 in the category of Best Musical Album for Children for “Family Time,” which dropped in 2009. A review says:
“. . . Ziggy Marley . . . was unbelievable. It looked like there wasn’t one person sitting down for the whole show.”
J. Boog is the stage name of Jerry Fealofani Afemata, an American Samoan songwriter and reggae singer. Three of his albums made it into the Top Ten on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart. He and Marley have collaborated in the past.
Ziggy Marley will be at the Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery in Woodinville on July 1. Organizers of events like this can use poster printing to create effective advertising for them.
