The City of Woodinville recently held an open house to discuss the civic campus design, and answer questions from residents.
Brandon Buchanan, the Woodinville City Manager, attended, as did representatives of the Main Street Redevelopment Group. The officials talked about the plans the city has for closing on the property, and for demolition and construction work, which should start soon.
Many people who attended were concerned about the impact construction will have on the parking lot of the Woodinville Sports Field. Officials explained that in order to make room for construction vehicles to enter and leave the job site, part of the sports field's parking lot will be closed.
The parking lot will not be the only facility impacted by work on the civic campus. The walkway lying to the east of the fields, as well as the restrooms underneath the Carol Edwards Center, will be shut down until the work is complete. Temporary restrooms will be provided for those using the sports field.
The parking lot's northern half will be closed during the week, Mondays through Fridays, from 5:00 am until 4:00 pm, probably until the end of Summer 2020. There will be no closure of the southern half and during the evenings, the entire lot will be open. Officials could consider using Letterheads to compose a letter to residents about upcoming measures that might affect their travel plans.
