Once again, Woodinville is moving into the holiday season with a signature celebration.
Woodinville’s Winterfest Holiday Fair & Tree Lighting has been a tradition for years and takes place at venues throughout the city. A 5K race is also part of the day.
Attendees can make their way to DeYoung Park for performances by local school groups, ornament making, holiday treats, an opportunity to make wreaths, a chance to take pictures with Santa, and to stop at the Woodinville Chamber Booth. The Chamber is holding a toy drive to benefit the Forgotten Children’s Fund. This park is the site of the Tree Lighting, which will take place at 5.30 pm.
People checking out the Schoolhouse District will have a chance to enjoy the Holiday Breakfast, as well as enjoying s’mores at the fire pits. A Farmer’s Market will be set up from 1.00 pm until 5.00 pm, and Winter Wonderland will run from 2.00 pm until 4.00 pm. Activities here wind up with the Candy Cane Hunt at 6.30 pm.
Still more activities are planned at Woodin Creek Village. These include a petting zoo, a chance to meet Santa Claus and other characters, photo ops, face painting, and carriage rides.
Those people who want to enjoy the 5K run/walk should be at Wilmot Gateway Park for a 9.30 am start.
Winterfest is scheduled for December 5, from 8:30 am until 6.30 pm. Celebrations like this benefit when organizers publicize them by using poster printing to create colorful advertisements.
