Woodinville city offers grants for tourism and promotion

For eligible non-profits, governmental organizations, and businesses in the Woodinville area, the city is now accepting applications for grant funds.

Funds for the grants come from the Tourism Promotion Grant, which estimates $55,000 available for the budget year of 2015. Funding will be given for expenditures and activities designed to promote tourism according to the Revised Code of Washington (RCW) 67.28.

Funds will be granted based on the applicant showing how their promotion or project shows the positive side of Woodinville, demonstrating that the community is a destination for visitors, attracts tourists, appeals to a broad section of the community, and meets other criteria.

As part of their application, applicants will need to include the approximate count of visitors who come to Woodinville each year because of the activity or initiative that they are proposing.

Companies who want to get a step-up on their application could choose to use printing services to create a professional proposal to submit along with the city sponsored paperwork. To apply, hopefuls should visit the city’s website, or call the city’s offices. Applications are due by 4:00 pm on Wednesday, September 10th. Announcements of awarded grants are expected in October.

The city of Woodinville is located within King County in Washington State. As of 2010, the city’s population was around 10,000 residents.
