What's Happening in Woodinville, WA…

Sound Transit schedules meeting in Woodinville

Sound Transit Bus Rapid Transit is in the planning stages of a major expansion effort, and is scheduling community meetings to get input from residents on traffic configurations, sidewalks, and parking. A meeting in Woodinville is coming up soon.

The transit agency is scheduling meetings in Kenmore, Lake Forest Park, Seattle, and Bothell, and Woodinville on various dates. Sound Transit will also be sharing new information about the project.

The expansion is designed to provide reliable, frequent, fast bus-based service from communities at the north end of Lake Washington to the Shoreline South/145th light rail station, where riders from throughout the area can transfer to different types of transit.

Sound Transit is currently evaluating voters’ comments from earlier meetings in order to recommend a project to the transit company’s board. The board will have design concepts produced and an environmental review performed, both in 2019. Once the preliminaries are over, construction will start in 2023, followed by the start of service in 2024.

Sound Transit wants to extend light rail until a regional system covering 116 miles is in service by 2041. Agencies like this can work with a brochure printing company to provide detailed information to residents.

There will be two meetings for residents of Woodinville and Bothell, both on the same day - Monday, October 8. The first is from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm, and the second is from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. The venue is the North Creek Event Center at UW Bothell.
