Popular concert series restarts in Woodinville

A popular series of concerts is kicking off its 16th season with a fan favorite.

JazzVox House Concerts’ first 2023 performance features Gabe Dixon, a multi-instrumentalist who has worked with stars such as Avicii and O.A.R. Dixon began his career as a member of Six Shooter, a country band based in Nashville. From 1998 until 2010, he appeared with his own outfit, The Gabe Dixon Band, and when they dissolved, he started his solo career.

He has released three albums on his own, winning critical praise and landing appearances on “The Late Show” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” and appearing at major festivals like High Sierra and Bonnaroo. His musicianship attracted the attention of some of music’s biggest stars, including Supertramp and Alison Kraus, who invited him to join their tours, and legend Paul McCartney, who invited Dixon to play the keyboards at the Concert for New York City and on “Driving Rain,” McCartney’s 12th studio album released in 2001.

JazzVox House Concerts are aptly named, as they take place in private homes. The location is revealed once the ticket buyer’s purchase is confirmed. The date of the concert is January 7 and will be somewhere in Woodinville. Organizers remind potential audience members they will be going to a private home, so should be prepared to deal with cats, dogs, and other residents. Nibbles will be provided but everyone is welcome to bring something to share. Events like these can provide opportunities for networking so attendees might consider bringing business cards.
